Trailblazing into Tomorrow: Reflections, Resolutions, and Remarkable New Roads

Goodness, it’s been a minute since we last chatted. I hope you are doing well and continuing to challenge yourself and ask the hard questions.  I certainly have been and it’s amazing, exhausting, and always a tad scary.  For this first post of the new year, I thought I would share what I have been up to and what I am working toward. Which makes you my accountability partner.  Yikes - shit just got real real.

Here’s What I’ve Been Up To:

Learning. I’ve spent the last year grabbing knowledge wherever I could find it.  Some came with shiny new certifications and others simply provided new tools to use in my coaching. They were all engaging and definitely worthwhile. Here are a few of the trainings I completed this year:

  • Coaching for Motivation

  • Misconceptions About Neurodiversity

  • Mindfulness and Presence

  • Power of Curiosity

Exploring. I’m a pretty hardcore fiction reader. However, I did manage to squeeze in some books that supported my coaching. Some of them were newly published while others have been around for a while. Regardless, I believe they came to me when I was ready for them. Here are some that stuck with me:

Creating. I also created my first online course and companion workbook.  That is such a simple sentence for such a tremendous undertaking.  If you are currently job searching or thinking of launching a search, please check it out.  This 50-minute course will give you both structure and freedom all in the name of preserving your well-being during what is inevitably going to be a grueling process.

Relationships. There was a fourth category of major importance this year and that was people who challenged and supported me.  I’m not naming names because were I to forget someone, I would feel like a jerk.  I will say that it impressed upon me even more than ever, the importance of surrounding yourself with people who give you energy, who get excited for you, and who are not afraid to ask you the hard questions that get to the heart of it all.

Last year was very important to my coaching, my personal growth, and my business.  I’m carrying that energy into the new year and looking forward to continuing to build on everything that has been established.

What I’m Working Toward …

My first big lift is a half-day in-person workshop that is tentatively titled, Finding Your Way! It is focused on defining your goals by first defining you.  This has been a big challenge and I’m trying to employ my own methods, looking only at the next step and then the step after that.  I am fortunate to have an amazing friend and colleague who is doing a bit of hand-holding and providing expert guidance through the process. We should all be grateful for her as otherwise, the workshop would have been thousands of slides and hundreds of hours.

I am also creating an online workshop and a new coaching package.  It will be three sessions in which you will define your personal executive message and all the evidence to support it.  This workshop will be for people who are preparing for an interview, a promotional portfolio, or just want to be more fluent in articulating who they are, the value they bring and how they get it all done.  I’m very excited about this one because I’ve seen the amazing confidence boost that this can bring.

Another exciting project is my website getting an update (maybe you noticed).  My business has evolved and grown!  When the site was first built I figured my work there was done.  Then I needed to figure out how to sell products, and digital courses, and the needs keep going. But, wow, it's an amazing problem that I never thought I would have and I’m so grateful. Shout to my amazing web designer, Christina Dean.

Lastly, a passion project. I’ve been slowly developing a podcast idea and recently did a practice recording.  I thought this was a long-term goal, but it is looking like more of a near-term situation. I’m having so much fun working through the details and trying to make it something that really matters not just to me but to all of my friends - that includes you! I realize that I have not given you any details as to the subject of my podcast.  I promise that you will hear more specifics soon!

Did I pique your curiosity at least a little bit? Do you want more details on any of these endeavors?  Here are a few things you can do:

  1. Go to my website and join my mailing list

  2. Become a Key Member to access any new courses and free content

  3. Follow me on Instagram or Facebook @yourkeyforward

Finally, to anyone reading this, I say thank you. I am sending my love and gratitude to each of you who as you have been a source of motivation, support, and a peaceful presence in my life this year.  I am grateful for this and hope that I can be a positive presence, a source of energy, and a spot of joy in your life this year.

So, what are you most excited about this year? Share in the comments.
