We all have a story.
This is mine…
Connections
My family will tell you that I’ll talk to anyone. They’re right. Mostly. I’m great one-on-one, while in large gatherings you’re more likely to find me quietly observing from a corner. Simply, I would rather make a real connection. I love to make those around me feel comfortable and heard. This is coupled with an insatiable curiosity to learn everything about everyone. I am very fortunate to have found a career that encourages and takes advantage of both behaviors.
coaching style
Let’s get real. I do not seek to use whatever buzzwords are currently trending. Nor will you find me quoting the philosophy of business moguls lifted from their most recent interview. While those things serve a purpose, and can be interesting, they are not critical to your success and will never fully address your particular challenges.
To be truly productive, the focus must be on you and the uniqueness of your situation. Don’t worry! I can help. We’ll first identify and gain clarity around your work style while also taking into account your particular challenges and commitments. We’ll then use these to create a framework that allows you to move forward freely with confidence and a sense of purpose.
Your circumstances are yours alone. We acknowledge and honor that, so instead of road blocks we create stepping stones.
history
I have always known that my purpose here is to support others. Paired with a natural curiosity and genuine interest in the stories of those around me, it’s no surprise I earned my undergraduate degree in Sociology, Human Services.
With degree in hand, I launched into amazing adventures in employment, travel, and personal growth that ultimately landed me in human resources. I worked many years as a recruiter, being paid to ask people personal questions. A sometimes sensitive process, I learned to keep an open mind while trusting my instincts.
Knee-deep in interviews and mastering the art of matching people to roles, I decided to go back to school and earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. The missing piece. I had grown out of HR and into coaching. Now, I could put all of my previous experience to use and couple it with my passion for helping people.
In addition to my degrees, I am a Board Certified Coach through the CCE with designations in Career Coaching and Personal/Life Coaching. I am also a member of the National Career Development Association (NCDA). With 14 years of coaching experience, I have navigated the highs and lows of hundreds of people. Each of my clients is unique and I recognize the value in that. By always remaining open to each person’s circumstances, I am able to creatively address their challenges. I have learned the significance of supporting each person as they evolve, coming to honor their value as an individual.
